I challenge painting. I deny the limits of the pictorial surface. Paintings which spreads outside the canvas are known, I create the concept of a painting opening from the inside. To go beyond closed forms. I invent painting by physical extraction. I create a impression by withdrawing material. The gesture of the painter takes on a new dimension. It is no longer the dimension of the canvas, the painting metamorphosed beyond the visible. Exceed and transcend the gesture which defines space. Exceed and transcend the touch which creates the form. See the hole as a new spatial dimension. They follow one another in a pulsing dynamic. Numerical echo. Sequential range of openings. Rhythmic scansion. The hole becomes revealing of the surface which it disrupts. Alternation between full and void. The openings play with the light according to changes of lighting, according to the movement of the spectator. It encourages the viewer to walk around the work, to discover that there are multiple points of view. The viewer catches a glimpse of a form which escapes. The form extends beyond its material form. Invent beyond appearances. Imaginative value. Tactile glance on the painting. Feeling of touching. New vision with vaster dimensions. The invisible becomes visible.
